I am a big fan of stand-up comedians, especially the women who rock their craft in a male-dominated arena. (NotMoms Kathy Griffin and Margaret Cho, for a start.) I’ve seen many a riff by women and men about other people’s kids, badly behaved kids, or just not liking kids at all.
But, I couldn’t remember ever hearing a straight-up joke or riddle about childlessness, so I decided to do a Google search for one.
Why not? Isn’t there a motivational tchotchke somewhere about the release of laughing at yourself?
Google presented only one straight-up, short-and-sweet joke, but then, I didn’t commit a heck of a lot of time to what was basically a strange little search. Ready? Here it is:
Q. Why did Smokey the Bear never have children?
A. Every time his wife got hot, he stamped her out.
