2013 will always be known as the year that Black Friday started on a Thursday. On Thanksgiving, to be precise. I’ve never been the type to join those super-crazed shoppers. After all, sales and special holiday deals will be available from now through New Year’s Day, if you know where to look.
Every year, I spend the most on my husband, and I used to think he was the only one who could expect a high tech present from me. But, with the right discount, I can be more generous to friends and the rest of the family. Especially since “high tech” these days describes everything from a Digital Barbie Makeover Kit to the Fitbit One fitness monitor I’ve worn since I got it for my birthday in September.
My stress-busting shopping idea this year? Best Buy! With 1,400 stores offering the ultimate showroom to touch, test, try and purchase. and the stay-at-home ease of BestBuy.com, chances are that with just one stop (or click), you’ll find an ooh-worthy gift for everyone on your list. Their Low Price Guarantee ensures you’re getting the most competitive price possible, and with these exclusive coupons (good from December 1, 2013 through January 18, 2014), you’ll save even more!
- Special Offer 1: 15% off Health & Fitness items (like my Fitbit), AND toys by Fisher Price and Mattel
- Special Offer 2: 10% off Headphones & Portable Speakers (excludes Beats, Bose and Sony)
This holiday season, there are more 100 products sold only at Best Buy, in addition to a wide selection of the hottest tablets, smartphones, gaming consoles and titles, mobile accessories and much more. HubbyMine wants a keyboard for his iPad, and I can get that there, too. Nice to know that I can order online, then pick up my purchases at a store. Presto! No shipping and handling charges. Maybe I’ll save enough to get a gift for me.
For older relatives, I’d been thinking of music CDs or movies on DVD or BluRay, and I can pick those up from Best Buy, too. To impress my mother-in-law, who struggles to be digitally literate, we’ve talked about surprising her with a membership to the Geek Squad. That will get her an entire year of computer assistance at any Best Buy store, in-home, online and by phone, including installing, repairing, optimizing and all sorts of technical advice.
Then again, maybe I’ll just get her a Best Buy gift card so that she can choose exactly what she wants.
If you’re still working on your list, visit the Best Buy Gift Center for ideas categorized by price. They’re not all big ticket items; many goodies are $25 or less. One of my girlfriends will absolutely love the cordless rechargeable electric wine opener I found that way, and she’ll never guess what I paid for it, or how easy it was to find it.
