America’s Problem with Childless Women

KMW art

One in five. That’s the easy-to-remember stat about America’s childless women. It fits women in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Australia, too.  Hearing it for the first time can be surprising, when so many NotMoms acutely feel distanced and different from the women (Moms) around them.

Unfortunately, the same numbers that make child-free women feel less alone may not be good news for America, or the world.  That whole overpopulation thing was apparently, um, overblown.
